Just today I began reading a new novel. The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne. I have to admit extreme shallowness and say to you that I only chose it off the display table because of two things:
- The words “lonely passion” in the title
- The cover.
The cover art is by Cecilia Paredes, a Peruvian artist who camouflages herself into her own paintings. I just love it. I bought the book at the Strand Bookstore in New York (one of the best book shops in the world, I think!) while I was on my honeymoon in January. I had never heard of the artist, but not long after I spotted her mentioned at Design for Mankind, and just after that at Lotte and Bloom. Her detailed florals are to die for.

Thank you and welcome to those who have joined me over here. It is an exciting and nerve-wracking journey to take, and I hope you enjoy!
